Is Writing a Resume When No Work Experience is Required Important?

Is Writing a Resume When No Work Experience is Required Important?Should you write a resume when no work experience is required? Some people think this is no longer necessary, as many companies do not ask for any work experience when job seekers are interviewed. However, others believe that employers will consider this information when making a decision. How can this be relevant to a new job, where an applicant has no previous work experience? They may only want to know if the candidate can follow directions and work well with others. Having no work experience could indicate that the person has poor interpersonal skills. The job seeker's ability to apply his or her skills in such a way as to get along with others may be a good indicator of potential for success. Employers who want to hire the best person for the job should consider whether this is relevant.Sometimes it is difficult to know if a resume has been handled properly, or if it has been designed correctly. In some cases, the r esume that is sent in may have information that may be useful to the employer. Of course, the type of resume may also influence the type of information that the employer gets. The first step is to understand what information to include on the application form. It should be clear that this is a resume. When no work experience is required, there are a few things to consider. The company name and contact information should be included on the cover page. Other necessary information should include the date of birth, education, and past employment. If there is any information related to special talents or experiences, it should be included on the resume. It is important to stress that this information is very general, since no one has ever done this before.A cover letter should be included that details how the candidate will make the most of their time at the company. It should contain information about the applicant, such as how long they have worked at the organization, and if they would be a good fit. The letter should be short and to the point, focusing on what the person can bring to the company. The letter should be well-written and format the applicant's best qualities and strengths so that they are able to relate to what the potential employer wants to hear. Many people put too much information in their resume and do not know how to structure their letters effectively. A person who has studied the proper format may provide an advantage when writing a resume when no work experience is required. One way to maximize the use of the cover letter is to use a more organized style than the resume itself. The cover letter should include specific questions the potential employer wants to know and should provide a clear answer to the question. They should be used to show the applicant knows what he or she is talking about. An applicant should be given every opportunity to express an interest in the position at the next round of interviews, even if he or she has not been ask ed to supply any resumes yet. When an applicant has no work experience, he or she should be treated the same as someone who does have work experience. The applicant should get an interview, and the employer may send a resume in for the person. The resume may show that the applicant has no work experience, but no employer is likely to hire someone who has no experience. When no work experience is required, it may be helpful to send a resume with the right information, as well as a cover letter with questions specific to the job. It is also important to have a job description available when applying for a job, as well as a resume and coverletter.Perhaps the best way to write a resume when no work experience is required is to include all information the employer wants to know. However, these forms can be written quickly and easily by those who know how to use them.

Culinary expert B, for example, is a little droid from the Bay Area that can make in excess of three dozen 12 oz smoothies in an hour. Or shouldn't something be said about Cafe X's mechanical production system robot-barista that featured the administration tech world a year ago? Flaunting the capacity to serve up to three complex strength drinks in 40 seconds. While the facts demonstrate that these sort of advancements are going on everywhere throughout the world as the innovation improves at an exponential rate, an ace mechanization point is getting progressively harder to elevate with regards to the administration world; an industry wherein amount yield is somewhat less applicable and joblessness rates close a marginally all the more frightening implication.Beyond the limitsBriggo as of now has one of the most great robotized blending machines to date. The ma chine is known as a coffee Haus, and it's equipped for siphoning out 100 gourmet cups of espresso in a solitary hour. The advantages fundamentally relate to time protection. Like Cafe X's blending machine, clients will arrange their refreshment through an application, enabling them to alter each part of their beverage from the quantity of coffee shots to the temperature, and the espresso Haus will immediately get to work.No more lines, not any more counter disarray, no more incorrectly spelled names, gladly composes Briggo's site. The leader of the organization, Kevin Nater, continues, Imagine you're coming into the security line at the air terminal, your flight is coming up, and you realize that on the off chance that you need an espresso you're going to remain in a long queue. From the security line, you can essentially arrange some espresso and get it at the espresso Haus and make it to your trip on time. The organization right now has eight of these machines in activity and wil l introduce another in ABIA and another one in San Fransisco International Airport in the following not many months. The innovation is great, no inquiry. Furthermore, there is a remark about the noteworthy piece of espresso purchasers that benefit speedy accommodation over personal quality or the social association found in nearby mother and pop shops. In any case, does this segment dwarf the rest?On these turns of events, human recourses laborer and self-admitted espresso someone who is addicted, Ryan Mulholland disclosed to Ladders that he bemoaned the possible loss of employments in any case felt that consumer loyalty would build significantly more in the interest of comfort even without the human collaboration component. In spite of the fact that he surrendered, on balance, he doesn't generally care all that much.I trust laborers won't be put out by this stuff however I think a ton of occupied espresso heads will truly welcome a framework. Go in, snatch your espresso, keep it m oving. No hiccups.Robots supplanting humans? In expansion to stating quality won't be adversely influenced by an espresso Haus, Briggo doesn't accept their innovation will accompany a negative effect on business either. The new tech primarily plans to fill underemployment holes by decreasing human assistance difficulties; like getting bothered by an enormous line or coming tired due to being exhausted, things robots are essentially unequipped for surrendering to.We don't believe we're supplanting individuals. We are making a cutting edge retail and promoting business, and creating employments simultaneously, Nater says, We simply recruited two individuals in the Bay Area, where we are opening another area in the spring.Unfortunately, speed and accommodation isn't the main badge of a decent day for a few. A Uber driver named Tim Schwartz, who used to go to a similar neighborhood Bushwick bistro as me each Monday through Friday, says that in addition to the fact that he prefers a human barista, a mechanized one would not get his business at all.Schwartz clarifies: I'm a lot more joyful saying 'thank you' to a person that might've placed somewhat more love into that cup of joe and required a grin and a fiver in his tip container to improve his day similarly as he improved mine. Try not to need a robot making my espresso.

Similar to the ownership of any equity, real estate ownership gives the owner the potential to make a sizeable lump-sum profit when they sell the house. Unfortunately, you cant just purchase a property and leave it. You need to invest in maintaining the property, which can cut into your bottom line. Rent Rent is a hugely popular type of real estate investing because of the monthly returns it provides. Rent can provide a regular income stream, but its not without its faults. When you own a rental property, you frequently have to act as a landlord, repairing the home when needed and dealing with the tenants themselves. To avoid acting as a landlord, you can hire a property management company, but you will have to share the monthly rent payments with them for their services. What is Passive Real Estate Investing? Now that you have an understanding of real estate types you can invest in and ways you can generate money from your investments, we will dive into the hands-off approach to real estate investing: passive investments. If youre looking for more information on DIY real estate investing, take a look at our Active Real Estate Investing Guide. Passive real estate investing allows you to invest in real estate without the need to physically do anything. Both novices and experienced investors alike can passively invest in real estate. With this form of investment, investors only provide the capital. Investing professionals then take the money and invest it on their behalf (similar to a portfolio manager with stocks). The most substantial downside of passive real estate investing is that it usually involves large sums of money that are tied up for long periods, so its not always accessible for the general public. There are four main types of passive real estate investments: private equity funds, Opportunity Funds, REITs, and online real estate investment platforms. Private Equity Fund A private equity fund is an investment model where investors pool their money into a single fund to make investments. Almost every private equity fund has a manager in charge of directly managing the equity funds investments. Because of the active role of the funds manager, investors are not required to be directly involved. However, just like with any real estate investment, it helps to have a financial and real estate background to understand the risks and potential returns of each investment. The downside of private equity funds is theyre difficult to join. The minimum investment to join a private equity fund is typically around $100,000, but it can be much higher. Private equity funds use a two and twenty model, meaning they charge a 2% annual management fee, and an additional 20% fee on any profits that the fund earns. Opportunity Funds An Opportunity Fund is an investment model where investors pool their money to invest in Qualified Opportunity Zones. Opportunity Zones are tracts of low-income communities where the government encourages private investments to improve the neighborhood. By law, the government requires 90% of an Opportunity Fund to go toward improving the impoverished areas with new buildings and the redevelopment of previously unused properties. Those who invest in Opportunity Funds can receive substantial capital gains tax incentives for their investments. An Opportunity Fund allows an investor to defer taxes on their capital gains until 2026. This typically translates into a 10-15% reduction in tax liability on their deferred gains, depending on how long they hold the investment. If the investment is held longer than ten years, any capital gains earned from Opportunity Funds investments will be excluded from any capital gains taxes. Real Estate Investment Trust (REITs) A REIT is a company that makes equity investments in commercial real estate. Investors purchase shares of this company and earn an income from the equity it gains in the form of dividends. Unlike a Private Equity or Opportunity Fund, some REITs allow ordinary investors to take advantage of passive real estate investing. Legally, a REIT must earn 75% of its gross income from real estate and invest 75% of its assets in real estate. They also have to distribute at least 90% of their taxable income to their investors each year. There are three main types of REITs: private, publicly-traded, and public non-traded. Private: Similar to Private Equity Funds, private REITs are limited to investors with a high net worth, as they have high minimums and high fees (usually around 15%). They also require that the investor be able to invest large sums of money for long periods. Publicly traded: REITs, on the other hand, publicly-traded REITs have no investment minimum other than the price of the share; theyre also registered with the SEC and traded in the stock market. Although publicly-traded REITs are easily accessible to the public, theyre also one of the more volatile real estate investments since theyre correlated to the public markets. Public non-traded REIT: Considered the middle ground between a private REIT and a publicly-traded one, non-traded REITs are registered with the SEC like publicly-traded REITs, but theyre not traded on the stock market. Public non-traded REITs can be either open or restricted, and their investment minimums can vary. Online Real Estate Platforms Online real estate platforms are the easiest way for individual investors to take advantage of real estate investing. With online real estate platforms, you can either choose to invest in a single investment or a diversified portfolio of real estate. Some investment platforms only offer debt investments, while some offer both debt and equity investments. Make sure to research the right platform for your situation, as they each have their own requirements and capabilities. How To Avoid Laziness At Work - Work It Daily

The most effective method to Avoid Laziness At Work - Work It Daily Would you be able to maintain a strategic distance from lethargy at work and be somewhat more gainful? Here are a few stages I take to get the chance to counter lethargy at work. Obviously, these means may not be appropriate for everybody. What's more, neither can every last bit of it work for everybody. Blend and match them. Find what works best for you. All things considered, life is about revelation, else it would be colossally exhausting. Try not to be worried or surrender too without any problem. We're creatures of propensity and it requires some investment to shape. Similarly as you receive negative behavior patterns, so you can embrace great propensities also. 1. Watch The Time Robbers Let's be honest, we're effortlessly diverted. On the off chance that a few associates are talking endlessly, we get inquisitive and participate in the discussion. Twenty minutes squandered there. We fly in to check our own messages, an additional couple of moments, at that point the delegate framework, and afterward refreshing of interpersonal interaction destinations, and so on, and so on. It just deteriorates. Ever peeped at yourself and what you accomplish at work and state, no big surprise I don't complete so a lot? Evade lethargy and watch for these time looters. 2. Show A Drive Ever have loads of thoughts in your mind yet have never executed them? Never dropped someone or other a note on the thought, never referenced it to an associate that is a decent sounding board? Make it today. I discover this particularly valuable when I start my day early. It permits me to get into the workplace and compose that little two-pager or that email. I like it on a word report as I can document it as an update. On the off chance that it doesn't work this time, it might work some other time. Also, an email makes an activity look excessively unstable. A word record gives it some feeling of custom. Activities are things you're keen on so you can keep away from lethargy doing this. 3. You Don't Need To Do It All Be sensible the amount you can finish in a day. What is the most significant thing you can finish today? Do in any event one. Try not to worry yourself by attempting to do it all in a day. A few times doing toning it down would be best. It permits you to concentrate on the work that issues and in light of the fact that you center you produce better work. Along these lines, you don't have to do it all in a day is one way you can maintain a strategic distance from sluggishness at work. Without being overpowered you may really accomplish more. 4. Start A Tough Task Ever procrastinated on an extreme undertaking you have to do? Indeed, I wager. You continue giving yourself pardons why you can't begin yet. There is no preferable time over at this point. There is no requirement for a superior time. Simply begin regardless of whether it's a little advance. That little advance will pick up footing on the off chance that you keep at it. In the event that you continue delaying that task, before you know it you will be behind time. 5. Finish Something No reason at all. Plunk down sort away. Don't re-read it. You do that tomorrow. The explanation behind this is so you leave the workplace with one great assignment done regardless of how straightforward. You would have 'constrained' yourself to sit and center for now, at this hour. That is one acceptable way that works for me when I need to keep away from apathy. 6. Start Early You will be astonished how that additional hour accomplishes for you when you get up right on time. It permits you to possess energy for yourself, read the papers, eat gradually â€" which gives you vitality and some more. You have to encounter this. Attempt it. It's one of my most ideal path on the best way to make today the greatest day at work. By and by, there is a relationship between's beginning early and my greatest days at work. Accelerate your job search on Linkedin

Accelerate your job search on Linkedin If you’re like the average Linkedin user, you have a profile and pop in from time to time to consume content, check on your connections or search for jobs.  If you’re similar to the average Linkedin user you’re also not yielding a whole lot of results and wondering why.  Sound like you? Read on… Here’s Why You’re Not Seeing  Results Linkedin much like your resume or network, requires a unique strategy when considering a holistic approach to the job search.  Being on Linkedin without a strategy is like trying to reach a destination without a roadmap.  In my post    Why Your Linkedin ® Job Search Strategy is an Epic Failure, I share several strategies for achieving your Linkedin ® goals while in the job search. In this post I have added to that list and am going to expand upon it to explain exactly how to use Linkedin to optimize your time and results when you enter this powerful career platform. Here are 8 areas of focus you’ll want to incorporate as you organize your job search strategy on Linkedin: 1. Networking Networking is probably the number one reason for visiting Linkedin as it requires nothing more than one’s ability to find and connect to the right people all with the click of a button.  Try to set aside time to focus on growing your network in the right direction and don’t get sucked into stalking ex-boyfriends (especially if you aren’t anonymous in your Linkedin settings).  Finding and connecting to the right people takes time so be sure to put this at the top of your job search checklist.  It’s still all about who you know in the world of networking so make a point to know a lot of people. 2. Research Career Paths If you’re like most job seekers I work with, you’re not exactly sure what you want to do next.  Never fear.  Linkedin is an awesome tool for researching career paths.  One piece of advice I always give my clients is spend time finding the person doing your dream job.  Once you find that person, check out the companies at which he/she worked and the titles held.  This will give you a sense of where you need to be or possible entry points.  You might even take it one step further to schedule an informational interview! 3. Research Companies Linkedin allows companies to make use of this powerful platform in order to share information about their culture, job openings and employees.  If you’re interested in finding your dream company, this is a great place to start.  If you know your dream company but don’t have an in at this time, check out similar companies or competitors to get an idea of how you can still be in the right space with similar organization.  To get an idea of what company pages look like, check out mine.  I invite you to follow me while you’re there! 4. Research Contacts When you find your dream company or industry space, don’t stop there. You’ll want to dig deeper into the employees section to see if you know anyone who can give you an introduction or forward your resume to the hiring manager.  This is probably one of the most valuable features on Linkedin as it can get you rather close to the person in charge of hiring if you maneuver around your contacts correctly. 5. Search Apply For Jobs The job search won’t amount to much if you’re not finding nor applying to jobs.  Linkedin gets this just right and you’ll want to include the Linkedin job board in your list of favorites.  I expand upon this in my post Online Job Boards Worth Trying but basically, you will find a variety of jobs and insight into who has posted them.  (Hint: you can then look into your network to see how you are connected to the job poster and ask for an introduction).  As I warn with all job search time, stick to a strict schedule and stay on target as the online job search can tend to suck you in and become a time waster. 6. Expand Your Visibility If you’re hoping to change careers or move up in ranks and stand out in front of the right people, you’ll want to dedicate some time to increasing your visibility in the right spaces.  You’ll want to focus on firming up your profile brand as this will be your first impression.  You’ll also want to apply a value-adding content-sharing strategy so that people are looking to you as a thought leader.  This will be a tremendous boost for your credibility and expertise in your target field. However don’t just create noise.  Be careful to really get your content strategy right! 7. Acquire Company Intel This is a strategy you’ll want to apply as you craft your resume and cover letter as well as prep for your interview.  Companies are interested in hiring problem solvers and you’ll need to demonstrate your knowledge about the business if you’re going to wow the interviewer.  Linkedin offers a wealth of company insights and recent news through their company pages.  Look for trends, strategic moves, partnerships anything that speaks to the big picture and cultural fit. 8. Acquire Hiring Manager Intel Knowing who is reading your resume or who you’ll be talking to in the interview is important because the hiring process is all about how your hiring manager will weigh in, on you.  You’ll want to get a sense of where they came from and how they ended up at your target company (Hint: this also makes for a great question in the QA process).  You may also want to research your hiring manager to see if he/she is publishing on Linkedin Pulse.  This will allow you to get on the same page as you prepare your interview answers and glean a glimpse into their school of thought on various issues. Are You Optimized on Linkedin? Check out  The Ultimate Linkedin:  A comprehensive How to  solution that will have you career-ready in no time at all!

Should I put my GPA on my resume? This depends on what your GPA is and how long youre been out of school. Generally, you should only include it if its above a 3.5 and NOTa 3.o like many suggest. Here are some basic rules on including your GPA on a resume: Include your GPA if its higher than 3.5If the job description states they need it, you should include it.If you have a higher GPA in your core classes, you should list that instead. That applies to both number 1 and 2 above as well. When not to include GPA on a resume: If you’ve been out of school for more than four years. If you have a couple of years of experience in your field. Many people will tell you to include your GPA if it’s 3.0 or higher. This really isn’t good advice, and I’ll tell you why. Sometimes there are hundreds of resumes sent for a single opening. That’s a lot of competition! With that much competition, you want to come off as excellent, not just “good”. No offense, you should definitely be proud of a GPA higher than 3.0 but it doesnt scream excellence! In this case, instead of drawing attention to a good GPA, you’re better off just leaving it off. You should also avoid listing it if you’ve been out of school for more than four years. You should lead with whatever experience you have in this case. If you already have experience in the field, you should also avoid listing your GPA and focus on your experience instead. Here is what career expert, Alison Green had to say: Its value is as a rough stand-in when they don’t yet have real work experience to point to, in order to demonstrate what they might be capable of. And even then, most employers know that it’s an imperfect gauge; lots of people with high GPAs end up doing mediocre work, and lots of people with unimpressive GPAs end up excelling in their careers.” Allison Green, Askamanager.org This leads us to our next question. Do employers care about your GPA anyway? A 2016 study showed that on a scale of 1-5, employers had a score of 3.5 when it comes to a high GPA importance (over 3.0). You can expect larger companies to care, but startups and small companies dont usually care about your GPA. Here is a good post on Forbes.com about whether employers really care about your grades. If you have a low GPA, don’t put it on your resume and focus instead on an internship or past work experience. If you have none of those, create a good resume summary that shows your soft skills as well as relevant coursework that relates to the position you’re applying for. Check out this post on including the right hard and soft skills. Where should you include your GPA on a resume? You should include it wherever you include your education. What bosses truly consider thank you messages To start with, Im not going totell you that each recruiting administrator thinks about thank you messages. Some do, while others don't. In any case, it's difficult to realize which recruiting administrators care and which don't, and there's no genuine drawback to sending a thank you email to an employing supervisor who doesn't require or need it. There's no genuine drawback to sending a thank you email. They'll basically take note of that you were exhaustive enough to development and put forth the additional attempt (and that is not an awful thing to exhibit after a meeting). I'm additionally not going to disclose to you that sending a thank you email will put you over the top and get you employed in the event that you appeared to be unfit, if youwalk in without looking into the activity and friends, and so forth. Nonetheless, by and large where your meeting went quite well, the business is thinking about you alongside a couple of different competitors. This is the place sending a meeting thank you emailmakes the greatest distinction and is the reason I trust you ought to consistently send one. Advantages of sending an extraordinary thank you email Sending a thank you email can be the sudden death round among you and another up-and-comer. It shows managers that you care about their activity and are keen on what you examined in the meeting. Sending a thank you email can be the sudden death round among you and another competitor. Bosses NEVER need to recruit you on the off chance that you don't appear to need the activity andshow that youre amped up for the work youll be doing. Their dread is that regardless of whether you're qualified, you'll need inspiration and may get exhausted and leave not long after being recruited. This is a noteworthy fearfor managers since it costs a ton of cash and assets to recruit and train somebody. Sending an email to express gratitude toward them and reaffirm that you're despite everything intrigued will evacuate any uncertainty they have about you needing the activity. That can go far toward getting you employed. Saying thanks to them after the meeting additionally shows that you don't underestimate things and are appreciative generally. This recommends you'll be anything but difficult to work with and positively affect the organization culture. Recruiting supervisors care very much about the character and character of who they bring onto their group. Some of the time it's as significant as your activity related aptitudes. At long last, a thank you email is an opportunity to remind them why you're an extraordinary decision for their situation from a specialized point of view. Perhaps they're going back and forth among you and another competitor, and bringing up one of yourbiggest strengthscould be the sudden death round. Thankyouemailexample For instance, you may compose: Howdy Beth, Much obliged to you for setting aside the effort to meet with me yesterday. I appreciated catching wind of what the everyday work would look like as a Senior Account Representative. I'm certain that my 2 years of involvement with client service at XYZ Company would give me a bit of leeway in this job, particularly since the two positions include reacting to a high volume of client demands fundamentally by means of email. I've discovered that correspondence through email requires a one of a kind methodology, since you can't check their responses at the time, and it's simpler to have miscommunications in case you're not cautious. This is something I've chipped away at acing in my past position and I'd love to keep working here. Much obliged to you again for your time yesterday, and I anticipate catching wind of the following stages! Meanwhile, don't stop for a second to get in touch with me in the event that you have any inquiries or concerns. Best respects, Your Name Key pieces to remember for your thank you email I'd suggest remembering the accompanying for any thank you email you send: The individual's name. You need this to be a customized email, sent to one individual. Try not to send one email out to numerous individuals, and don't send it without a customized welcoming like Dear Robert or Hello there Robert. If you met different individuals, send a different, tweaked email to each.A sentence demonstrating thankfulness for their time and saying thanks to them for meeting with you.A remark on something specificthat you delighted in hearing about.Customize this part and ensure they realize this email is composed only for them, in light of the discussion you had.Reaffirm your enthusiasm for the job. Reveal to them you're energized by what you realized in the meeting, and that you're anxious to catch wind of the following stages. In the event that youd like, you can likewise help them to remember why you feel youre an incredible fit for the activity (see the full email layout above for a case of this). I'd suggest sending this at noon the day after your meeting. On the off chance that you met on a Friday, you can send itthe same night when you show up home, so that youre not sending it on an end of the week. The main concern is: While sending a thank you email is certainly not a substitute for strolling in readied and prepared to dazzle the business in your meeting, it tends to be the contrast between a proposition for employment and a dismissal, particularly since most organizations have various applicants they like for every job. By following the means above, you can send thank you messages that show businesses you esteem their time and genuinely need their activity, which will assist you with standing apart from different applicants and win more bids for employment. This Is Where Amazon Will Put Its New Headquarters, Based on Jeff Bezoss Flight Records

This Is Where Amazon Will Put Its New Headquarters, Based on Jeff Bezos' Flight Records It's been over four months since Amazon limited its rundown of HQ2 possibility to 20 finalists. And keeping in mind that Wells Fargo's AI program has anticipated that Boston is destined to develop the champ, different intimations are highlighting destinations somewhat further south. Over the most recent two years, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos' personal jet has made rehashed excursions to one specific goal. That goal â€" the one in particular that has been visited more regularly even than Amazon's command post in Seattle â€" is Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport in Arlington, Va., reports the Puget Sound Business Journal. Three of the finalists for HQ2 are a short distance from Reagan: Washington, D.C., northern Virginia, and Montgomery County, Maryland. Regardless of whether these continuous excursions are demonstrative of Bezos' choice, in any case, stays indistinct. Bezos claims a chateau in the territory and is likewise proprietor of the D.C.- based Washington Post. Amazon additionally revealed to Fox Business that there's no association between Jeff's own and business travel, and our HQ2 search. Cover Letters Are About Preference Heres Mine

Cover Letters Are About Preference Heres Mine Since announcing my contract sales positions on LinkedIn, Facebook, and this blog, Ive gotten a number of emails. Some of them ask for more information. Others include a resume.  Not many include what has historically been called a cover letter.  Experts have poo-pooed the cover letters for years, causing job seekers to wonder should I include a cover letter? Heres a recent post citing a hiring manager at Bain on cover letters, which he says are NOT OPTIONAL. My experience is this: I honestly have no idea if you are doing the spray and pray method of job search, if you are really interested in doing sales, or if you are going to give this an honest effort. The lesson learned, for me, is that cover letters are ESSENTIAL.  I want to know that Im not just a number, and that you read up on the opportunity and that you know something about JibberJobber.  Bonus, of course, if you are a JibberJobber user. If you send me an email with just a resume, I dont have much to go on.  You are asking me to sift through all kinds of data and draw a conclusion that amounts to this person would be great for this job!   Dont make me sift, and dont make me draw conclusions give me, in your cover letter, helpful information, such as: that you think you are qualified for the job, because ________.  I was talking to a recruiter who said that 80% of the applications he got (which was over 10,000 a month) were NOT QUALIFIED.  Come on people we are better than that.  Want to stand out, and be part of the 20% the recruiter wants to seriously look at?  Tell the recruiter or hiring manager that, and why, you are qualified. That you are interested in this job, and think you could excel at it, and why. Are you self-motivated? A hard worker? Driven by a commission-based compensation model, which means you have unlimited earning potential?  Do you have lots of recruiter and HR contacts?  Have you done sales before, and you are ready to get a lot of no answers while you find the yes answers? Are you a relationship builder, and love to help people come to proper solutions? Can you ask questions? Sure.  You can let me know that you have some questions, and you look forward to learning more.  We could do that on a phone interview, or you could email me your questions.  But realize that getting me on the phone is as valuable as getting a prospect on the phone you want to start that relationship (and so do I). Lets get a little more personal, and have more of a human touch.  Please, please start sending this type of information as you apply.  For every recruiter that poo-poos the idea of a cover letter, realize that there is an inexperienced hiring manager looking at this stuff who really wants more than just your name and a resume, which somehow looks the same as the thirty other resumes theyve just been given. Here are a few ways to get your job opening known to the right people: Advertisements:  This can include many forms of media such as newspapers, trade magazines, e-mail blasts, websites, social media. As most job postings are digital nowadays, this will allow you to advertise your posting on many websites social media outlets to get the word out as quickly as possible. Step 3. Interview Preparation: A potential employee is not the only one who has to prepare for an interview. The employer must make sure they follow the right protocol in order to pick out the right candidate: Review their resume:  Not only will this let you know if the person is qualified for the job but it will also help you tailor your interview to ask the right questions of the applicant. Know what you want to ask the applicant:  Do you want to know their skill sets? Do you want them to be innovative and go beyond the job requirements? You need to have a clear idea of what you expect out of your potential employee in order to pick the right candidate. Make pleasant conversation:  The interviewee must feel comfortable when speaking to you. This is not an interrogation. You want to learn as much as you can from the applicant so their comfort will enable him/her to express themselves properly. Step 4. Pre-Employment Screening: At this stage, you only know as much about an applicant as what they have told you. It is important to dig deeper and find out as much as you can about someone who will be representing your company. Pre-employment screenings enable you to find out important information about your potential employee. The following screening options are very useful: Criminal Records:  It is important to know if your employees had any run-ins with the law that could interfere with their job position. Drug Testing:  An employer will benefit knowing if the candidate is currently or recently abused any illicit substances. Drug testing allows employers to know about illegal drugs such as heroin and cocaine, but also about prescription drug abuse that might interfere with the applicants job performance. Step 5. Set the New Employee Up for their New Job: Once your new employee is selected, you must now make sure they are set up with the tools they need to perform their job duties. Some of these tools may include: Work Space:  Whether it is a desk, a phone, a computer, equipment, and/or clothing, an employee will need some or all of these things in order to complete their tasks. Network Access:  From keycards to internet connection, an employer will need to provide what he/she feels the employee needs to do their job. Files/Software:  In order to complete their tasks, an employee may need access to files, forms, information essential to their work. If they are using a computer, they will need the necessary software related to their job functions. Training:  The new employee may be qualified for the job but additional training may be necessary for them to understand their new position. This may entail learning the companys product, procedures, and even the jargon used around the office. This step-by-step hiring process can help a company weed out unqualified applicant while selecting a candidate that is right for the vacant position. Once the new employee is in the position and set up with the tools they need, they can become a valuable member of an organization.
